Der Band enthält die Beiträge der internationalen
Konferenz "Media ownership, freedom of the press and the future of
democracy", die das Institut im Oktober 1995 veranstaltete. Darin werden die
Auswirkungen der Medienkonzentration in Verbindung mit ihren problematischen
Einflüssen diskutiert. Durch eine Reihe von Fallstudien der Medienindustrien
in verschiedenen Ländern versucht das Buch Lösungsansätze für eine
pluralistische und vielschichtige Medienlandschaft aufzuzeigen, die
